YOUNGSTERS at a Chester school have turned into mini beast explorers this week.
The Firs Prep School Foundation Stage 1 class (FS1) have been exploring the Firs Forest to learn about insects, their habitat and what they eat.
As well as learning the different names and colours of the insets, they have also been practising counting the number of insects they have seen. They have made their own binoculars made out of recycled products to study them more closely.
The new FS1 class, part of the pre school Fir Cones for two- to five-year-olds, which launched this autumn, has enabled the school to further meet its continuing commitment to providing exceptional learning for all of the children in their care.
Headteacher Rosemary Blackburn said: “We love to inspire the children to learn and provide creative learning experiences that cater for individual learning styles.
"The mini beasts topic is always very popular with the children and it is a pleasure to see them so enthusiastic about learning.”
