ST MARY’S CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL, FLINT

The Leader:

Head teacher Rachel Molyneux is incredibly proud of the pupils in her school, with staff overwhelmed by the generosity that has been shown over the past few weeks.

Miss Molyneux said: "We have always supported the Shoebox Appeal, and wanted to continue the tradition this year. However, as we are all aware we are currently in very difficult and unprecedented times.

"But the families and pupils of St Mary’s have once again amazed us all and have donated 40 shoeboxes to Teams4U, which will be sent around the world to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

"We also had many families donate online and sponsor a shoebox. The staff would like to just say a huge thank you to everyone for spreading some early Christmas joy."

YSGOL YR ESGOB, CAERWYS

The Leader:

Pupils had a great day recently, raising money for Children In Need. All pupils and staff participated in a pyjama day and helped raise £110. Class Derwen Bach also took part in the Joe Wicks 24-hour challenge and had a brilliant time showing off their fitness skills.

YSGOL PENTRE CIW, WREXHAM

The Leader:

Earlier this month, all classes participated in the global Outdoor Classroom Day. All classes took their lessons outside and had a great time.

YSGOL GLAN ABER, BAGILLT

The Leader:

Dosbarth Teigrod have completed a kindness challenge during November. They decided they would do a reverse advent calendar to help people in their community who may be struggling this year.

They all agreed to bring in one item, but the children and families' generosity has been amazing, and they have been able to donate five hampers to St Peter's Church £2 Club.

ST ANNE'S SCHOOL, WREXHAM

The Leader:

Year 5 children have been learning about refugees and decided they would like to help.

After class teacher Gill Nicholls contacted the Christmas Rucksack Appeal via their Facebook page, staff and children donated many items of clothing, toys, books and toiletries, and filled 16 rucksacks.

Kerry Ashbarry from the appeal was delighted to collect the rucksacks from the school to be distributed to the homeless in Wrexham, as well as refugees displaced across Europe.
