WHILE Halloween might look a little different this year, that does not mean it should be boring.

With Wales already in a two-week 'fire-break' lockdown, parents may need to put some more thought into this year's spooky celebrations, but that does not mean they need to be any less fun.

The Leader has put together a list of some fun and safe ideas for your 'lockdown' Halloween, from a movie night to hosting a Zoom Halloween Party.

1. Watch a spooky movie

With various streaming services being available at our fingertips such Netflix and Disney, why not reach for the popcorn and put your feet up to watch a marathon of films. There are no shortages of films to choose from, such as family friendly classics like Hocus Pocus and horror flicks such as John Carpenter's Halloween, so sit back, relax and enjoy!

The Leader:

2. Carve a pumpkin

An oldie but classic. Why not get extra creative this year and carve some of your favourite Disney characters? You could even make it a competition for the whole family to design the best pumpkin.

3. Decorate your house

With non-essential items restricted in Wales during the 'fire-break' lockdown, why not print some spooky images from Google and get creative? It might be a bit more work but the whole family can get involved too.

The Leader:

4. Get baking!

Get creative and bake some Halloween themed cakes or cookies. Allow children to decorate them.

The Leader:

5. Host a Zoom Halloween party

The lockdown may mean that Halloween is slightly different this year but that does not mean we cannot all celebrate together.

6. Decorate themed face masks

Why not get creative and make them as spooky as you can.
