WREXHAM'S geekiest shop is thrilled at the news that Deadpool himself is the frontrunner to buy Wrexham AFC.

THE town is buzzing with the news that Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are poised to buy its beloved football club.

Boarder Collectables in Ty Pawb sells Subbuteo items as well as fandom merchandise such as Lego Minifigures and comic books.

As the hang out for both Wrexham football supporters and Deadpool fans, the excitement is fever pitch at Boarder Collectables.

The last Deadpool Funko Pop sold this morning, but co-owner Val Gilpin says there are more on the way to meet the demand from Wrexham's football and Deadpool fans.

Val makes frames with customised backgrounds for Minifigures and she is already planning to make special Deadpool/Wrexham AFC items.

Val said: "We have a lot of diehard Deapool fans here in Wrexham and we also sell the club's Subbuteo team, so we are very exited.

"When the news broke last night we couldn't believe it. Ryan Reynolds?

"It would be massive for the town. We really need something positive and this could be it.

"2020 has been such a random year so far, but this has to be up there as the most random.

"All we need now if for Hugh Jackman to want to buy Chester, Ryan Reynold's rivalry with him on Twitter is brilliant. I love them both.

"My husband Al has been a Wrexham fan all his life so he is very excited."

Val said Deadpool items were already in high demand buts she expects that to increase.

"We have the comic books, and they always go really quick as we only sell them for a pount. The Minifigures are also very popular. The last Deadpool Funko Pop went tis morning but we will be getting more.
