A PRESTATYN MAN has been brightening up the days of passers-by with his selection of homemade garden decorations.

Paul Humphries, 64, has been crafting items out of wood during lockdown, from wishing wells to characters, which are now on display in his garden.

He says he’s received some ‘great’ feedback from people who have walked past his house on Franklyn Avenue.

Although he had already got into the hobby pre-coronavirus, Paul says his love for creating things out of wood has grown even stronger during the lockdown.

Paul, who is originally from Cheshire but has lived in North Wales for the last 16 years, said: “My dad was always interested in carpentry and woodwork, and although I’m nothing of an expert myself, I do enjoy making things for the garden.”

Paul’s handy work has really caught the eye in the local area and he’s even been approached to make items for people.

Garden features created so far include planters, bird tables, a water feature and even a wheelbarrow pushed by a man. To help with his creations, some of Paul’s neighbours have kindly donated wood pallets for him to use.

He says he’s now working on another wishing well in his back garden.

Paul added: “I just wanted to do something to cheer people up really. It’s nice seeing people walk past with smiles on their faces when they see our garden, especially after what’s been a tough few months for everyone”.
