A MAN has died after being hit by a lorry following a crash on the A55 on Anglesey last night.
North Wales Police have confirmed that, at 10.49pm, they received a report of a man on the carriageway of the A55 near to the Valley off-slip.
They added that emergency services attended but the man, who has not been named but is local to the area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A collision involving a black Vauxhall Corsa had happened moments earlier whereby the Corsa had collided with roadside furniture at junction 3 westbound on the Valley off-slip.
The driver managed to get out of his vehicle but was then struck by the HGV.
Sergeant Raymond Williams of the Roads Policing Unit who is leading the investigation is urging for any witnesses to come forward. He said: “Sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene and I offer my heartfelt condolences to his family.
“We are urging anybody who may have been travelling in the area around the time of the collision and who may have dash cam to contact us. We are particularly keen on speaking to anybody who may have seen the Corsa being driven prior to the initial collision.
“Our enquiries are underway and anybody who may be able to assist with the investigation should contact us immediately.”
The road re-opened shortly before 10am this morning.
Anyone with information or who may have dash cam footage is asked to contact officers at the Western Roads Policing Unit in Llandygai on 101, quoting incident number 20000468294.
