LLANDUDNO manager Sean Eardley has made another notable addition to his squad with the acquisition of Leo Riley.

The experienced player, who can operate in either defence or midfield, is the latest to link up with the former Caernarfon Town boss at Maesdu Park as Eardley looks to turn around the fortunes of the set-up in JD Cymru North next season.

Riley comes to the club with a fantastic pedigree having been part of the Airbus UK Broughton squad that lifted the Huws Gray Alliance title to secure promotion to the top-flight in 2018/19 during a memorable double-winning campaign for the Wingmakers.

A former trainee at Tranmere Rovers, Riley was also part of the Academy squads at Bolton Wanderers and Liverpool during the initial stages of his career before making a move to Llandudno for his first spell in 2015.

He made 40 top-flight appearances for Tudno until he was acquired by the Wingmakers, and he later went on to have a short spell at the wound-up Rhyl FC last season.

Eardley, said: “I’m really happy to be working with Leo again. I first come across him during our Cymru Alliance winning season and he possesses fantastic technical ability, great feet and can pick out a pass.

“He adds experience and will be the right fit in the dressing room, ne also adds great versatility as he can operate in many positions. Fans and players alike I’m sure will give him a warm welcome back.”

Riley added that his “eyes lit up” when he heard the news regarding Eardley’s return to Llandudno following a hugely successful stint with the Canaries where he guided them to the Huws Gray Alliance title and two top-six finishes during their opening two campaigns in the JD Cymru Premier.

“To be honest my eyes lit up when I saw Eards took the job, I just want to enjoy playing football again and I know I will under him and all the lads. Can’t wait to get going again now,” added Riley.
