A popular park near Powis Castle in Welshpool is set to reopen next week.

The Powis Estate Deer Park will be open to the public from Friday, July 10.

Walkers are asked to keep to the pathway and not to wander off into the wider park.

"The Deer Park is privately owned and access is provided as goodwill. Please enjoy it but act responsibly," a Powis Estate spokesperson said.

The Deer Park is entirely separate and in different ownership from the National Trust who run Powis Castle and Garden.

"Absolutely no dogs are allowed in the Deer Park (save for assistance dogs) at any time. This must be adhered to without exception.

"Powis Estates and Welshpool Town Council provide open access to the Lower Park for dog walking purposes".
