A VILLAGE store has come to the rescue of a charity knitting group.
The team from Knit and Natter Newtown spent January to March creating knitted items for sale on their Easter Charity Stalls. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic these events all had to be cancelled.
Stepping to the rescue was Alison and Jonathan Higgins from Bettws Cedewain Stores .
The village store has been selling home made cakes and delivering essential supplies to those in lockdown offered to sell items in their shop.
A Knit and Natter Newtown spokesman said: “A huge thank you to Alison and Jonathan from Knit and Natter Newtown for their kindness
“Today we collected a cheque for £145 for the sale of the those items.
“Alison also took more knitted stock along with new colourful hand made face coverings made by Lorraine Sharp – all money will go to charity.”
Lockdown has been hard for all; despite not being able to meet Knit and Natter have kept in touch through their Facebook page and enjoy virtual meetings online. Look out for products being sold directly from their Facebook page very soon.
