A BODY has been found on a beach in Southern Gwynedd during a search for a missing 71-year-old man.
Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed that a body has been discovered on Tywyn beach during the search for Alan Hurley, who had been reported missing.
A spokesperson said: “Formal identification has not yet taken place, however Mr Hurley’s family have been informed of this development. Our thoughts remain with the family at this time”
Mr Hurley’s vehicle, a maroon Grand Cherokee jeep, has been located parked in Aberporth car park. It is believed to have been parked there for the last few days.
Officers had made house to house enquiries in the Aberporth area and searches were conducted along the coastal path.
