A 37-YEAR-OLD Anglesey man has appeared in court accused of arson with intent to endanger life at a flat at Amlwch.

Owen Bennett, of Hibernia Terrace, Holyhead, was also charged with common assault and assaulting an emergency worker.

The alleged fire was in Salem Street, Amlwch, on June 20.

District judge Gwyn Jones at Llandudno court rejected an application for bail. Bennett was remanded in custody until July 20 at Caernarfon crown court.

Defence solicitor Rhys Tudur said he denied arson.
