A DRIVER, said to be in a rush to get home after collecting a take-away, was clocked doing speeds of 105mph on Anglesey.

North Wales Police's Roads Policing Unit caught the driver on the A55 near Llangefni on Sunday.

A spokesperson for the force said: "It's disappointing that we have to continue to issue these type of posts but high speeds on some of our roads is still an issue and a huge concern.

"The driver of this car was caught travelling at 105mph on the A55 near Llangefni on Sunday. In a hurry to get home after collecting a take-away...

"Drivers also caught travelling at 115mph and 108mph on the A55 at Hawarden last night. We also mentioned last night that we'd carried out checks in Coedpoeth. Rest assured that these checks (across north Wales) will continue.

"We're committed to making our roads a safer place for all who use them and we'll continue to target routes at various times of the day and crack down on those irresponsible drivers who choose to ignore speed limits and drive irresponsibly, not only risking their own lives but the lives of others. Slow down."
