A WEALTH of first-team stars have all agreed to stay on at Colwyn Bay for the upcoming campaign.

Continuity will definitely be key for the Seagulls’ as they go in search of the JD Cymru North title next season, and manager Craig Hogg confirmed that no fewer than 16 players have all stated their desire to remain with the set-up.

Talented wing-back Cai Owen is one of the names on board having impressed considerably following his January move from Rhyl. Joe Chaplin also gets another chance to shine after a hugely beneficial loan spell at Gresford Athletic last season.

Alex Downes, Sion Edwards, Sam Downey and Callum Parry are also set to pen new deals with the club, and this comes on the back of skipper Tom McCready and top scorer Mitch Bryant agreeing to stay on.

Hogg, said: “Joe scored some important goals for our club last season and had a really productive spell when he went out on loan. I’m really looking forward to working with him again and seeing him back in a Bay shirt."

"It is no secret that Alex Downes is considered one of the best young defenders in the Welsh semi-pro game. I am looking forward to seeing a continuation in his growing football maturity here at Colwyn Bay.

Will Bell and Jordan Carrington, together with goalkeeping duo Andy Coughlin and Paddy Rutter will also look to assist the club in their promotion push, along with Julian Williams, Mike Williams, Alun Roberts, Toby Jones, Damian Ketley and Kian Owen.
