TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of arson on Anglesey.

The pair have been apprehended following a spate of arson incidents around the Dingle Nature Reserves area of Llangefni.

Detective Inspector Andrew Gibson said: "As we have seen, these fires can spread rapidly and are not only damaging the wildlife and environment, but present a real risk to life.

Despite the arrestes, fire crews continue to be called to the site.

On the evening of Tuesday, May 26, after the arrest, yet anoter fire broke out at the Dingle, involving four square metres of woodland.

A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue said: "We were called at 8.44pm to another fire in the open at the Dingle.

"The fire took place at the exact same spot as an incident the day before.

"The cause is unkown, but as there have been repeated deliberate ignitions in this area our arson reduction team have been made aware."
