STEREOPHONICS' planned summer gig in Gwynedd has been cancelled.

The popular Welsh rock band were scheduled to entertain fans at Vaynol Park in Bangor on Saturday, July 25.

However, the band has announced via social media this morning that the show, alongside other planned gigs in Edinburgh and Inverness in Scotland, will not be taking place.

Like many other events planned for 2020, it has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

A statement from the band read: "In addition to the Summer festival cancellations already announced, we are sorry to also announce that the Stereophonics summer shows in Inverness (11/7), Edinburgh (23/7) and Bangor (25/7) have been cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in the UK.

"Ticket refunds, will be issued from the point of purchase. Ticket holders will be contacted by their ticket agent within 14 days."

Stereophonics are known for hits such as 'Dakota', 'Have a Nice Day' and 'Handbags and Gladrags'.

The band, made up of Kelly Jones (vocals/guitar), Richard Jones (bass), Adam Zindani (guitar) and Jamie Morrison (drums) has have played at some of the biggest venues to fans all across the globe, achieving seven number one albums, ten top-10 albums, 23 Platinum Sales Awards, five BRIT nominations and one BRIT Award win.

They have headlined arenas and festivals to legions of dedicated fans, and sold 8.5 million albums in the UK alone.
