AN ELDERLY WOMAN was narrowly missed by a bike, spat at and then laughed at by a group of four younger males on the outskirts of Bangor.

Police say the incident took place at approximately 6.15pm on Friday, April 17.

The woman was walking along the Lon Las Cycle Path near Glasinfryn when she had to step off the path into the grass to avoid the group, who were on bicycles.

A spokesperson for NWP Bangor and Bethesda said: "The first male on the bike narrowly missed her, the second spat at her, the third laughed and the fourth one clapped and cheered.

"All males were wearing dark grey, navy or black clothing, all bicycles were dark in colour.

"The males were aged between 12-30 years old. They were coming from the Tregarth area, having just been over the Felin hen bridge."

Anyone with any information in relation to the identity of these males, or any mobile phone / CCTV / dashcam footage, can contact Police via the live webchat or through 101, quoting reference Y053990.
