NORTH Wales Police are committed to making Anglesey 'one of the safest places to live in the UK' as crime on the island continues despite coronavirus guidelines being put into place by the Government.

This week, 32-year-old Kelly Bates has been convicted of burglary, theft and attempted theft in the Holyhead area. She has been imprisoned for 10 months.

A 46-year-old male has also been charged for causing damage to a building in Holyhead in a separate incident. He will appear before court later today.

Finally, a 29-year-old male from Amlwch area has been charged with Burglary in Llangefni that occurred on Monday.

Talking about making the island a safer place to live, NWP Acting District Inspector Ian Roberts said: "In addition to policing the #covid19 restrictions, crime does unfortunately continue. However the team is committed to making Anglesey one of the safest place to live in the UK and these positive result hopefully demonstrate this. These charges and conviction demonstrates that such dishonesty will not be tolerated.

"Burglary is a deceitful crime which we loathe, as it has a long lasting effect on victims. We will continue to make Anglesey a hostile environment and utilise every investigate avenue to bring offenders to justice”.
