NORTH Wales police have released eerie images of the region as they thank people for following social distancing advice.

The images, taken throughout the Force area, are a stark contrast to just a week ago when people flocked to North Wales.

But many of us have now got the message that the advice is to keep people save and not an extra, indefinite holiday.

Looking like scenes from the zombie film, 28 Days Later, the images show our streets empty of people - with the exception of police officers who are still on patrol to remind people of social distancing advice as well as enforce the law and offer support when needed.

North Wales Police said: "We've been on patrol in our communities and on the roads this weekend and from these pictures it's clear that the vast majority of you are supporting us by staying at home."

"Thank you - you really are playing your part to help save lives."
