COLWYN Bay manager Craig Hogg has been rewarded for his team’s fine form with an award shortlisting.

The Seagulls’ boss is up for the JD Cymru North Manager of the Month distinction for February after guiding his team to three wins from as many fixtures.

This has propelled them into contention for a top-two finish when the season gets back underway following the coronavirus pandemic suspension of fixtures.

Hogg, said: “It’s nice for the management team be nominated for the award for February, but the credit has to lie with all the players for the results and performances they have delivered during the month. They have been all brilliant.

“There will be football again, but it’s important for now that our game sits it out on the side lines, until it’s safe for everyone to be out and enjoying it again.

“The thoughts of everyone at Colwyn Bay FC are with those who have been most impacted by the pandemic.

“Our support remains as strong as ever for all those people working in many different services, on the frontline fighting it.”

Hogg’s men started the month with an eye-catching 1-0 victory at Llanrhaedr-ym-Mochnant, before notching a 3-2 triumph at basement dwellers Llanfair United.

Following two postponements against Penrhyncoch and Guilsfield, the Bay rounded off February with another three points courtesy of a 2-1 victory over the Roosters.

They have won their last four league games and have achieved success in 15 out of their last 21 contests in all competitions.
