POLICE in Wrexham are using a drone to patrol parks and open spaces in the more rural areas of Wrexham.

While their colleagues in the town have been patrolling areas like Bellvue Park to remind sunbathers and picnickers of the latest coronavirus guidance from the Government, the Wrexham Rural team have taken to the skies.

The Leader:

The drone has let them patrol large open spaces to make sure people are respecting social distancing.

The Leader:

The team tweeted: "We have been monitoring the parks and open spaces today using one of the force drones. Please respect the new social restrictions. It’s saving lives. We are all in this together."

"Some lovely images of our local green spaces. Great to see people following the government advice regarding social distancing and not attending these areas on mass.

"Please exercise locally to help reduce the spread."

The Leader:

And, today, North Wales Police's Chief Constable Cark Foulkes reinforced the message.

The Leader:

He said: "This morning I was interviewed by GMB explaining what we will be doing to support the NHS by using our powers, key is staying away from north Wales at this difficult period and following the guidance."
