A WREXHAM councillor will be providing support for the most vulnerable during the coronavirus outbreak.

Leaflets from Cllr Graham Rogers, of Hermitage Ward, have been posted through doors within the area to offer assistance to those in need during the virus pandemic.

He said: "If you are self-isolating (or about too) then I and colleagues of Offa Community Council are here to help.

"Members and staff are coordinating help for the most vulnerable residents living in the Offa area.

"If you currently do not have family or friends that can help you with food shopping, topping up utility bills, pharmacy collections or posting mail, then please contact me and I shall endeavour to provide assistance for you."

Cllr Rogers highlighted that those seeking assistance must provide essential information, such as their name, address, contact details, the reasons for self-isolating, if they are aged 70 or older as well as stating their underlying health issues.

He added: "Coronavirus is contagious and has already resulted in the death of a Wrexham lady.

"Please take every precaution and to refrain from contact with others and avoid contact by keeping a separation of two metres from others, always wash your hands when preparing food and using door handles etc."

If you are free of the symptoms of coronavirus and feel comfortable with helping your neighbours, who have followed Government advice to self-isolate, Offa Community Council are gathering details of people living within the area who wish to help as a friend.
