A POPULAR caravan site in Flintshire will be closing due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Tree Tops Caravan Park North Wales, which has been in operation since 1960, took to social media on March 22, to inform the public that they will be closing until further notice on Monday, 23 March due to the virus pandemic.

They posted: "Dear Tree Toppers, the COVID-19 situation is progressing fast and we have been advised to close the park.

"The Government is asking that you cut all non-essential travel, visiting your caravan or lodge at Tree Tops would be viewed as non-essential.

"There can be no argument that stands against Government advice, and therefore, it is with great sadness that Tree Tops will close tomorrow (March 23 at 4pm) until further notice.

"Please follow your normal routines regarding turning the water off.

"We would recommend that you empty your freezer and take all perishable foodstuffs home with you.

"If you need help with this let us know.

"Some foods can be taken to food banks.

"We will do everything to ensure that the park will remain staffed while the shutdown is in place.

"We currently have no end date, but hopefully, it will be soon.

"Our family is devastated at having to take this decision, we are in uncharted territory, we must follow Government advice in this time of national crisis.

"We wish you well over the coming weeks and look forward to welcoming you back to Tree Tops in the future.

"We are available through the usual channels if we can be of assistance.

"With every best wish, the Walker family and team Tree Tops."
