A DRUNKEN 32-year-old man squeezed his ex-partner’s throat and punched her repeatedly after being refused beer money, a court heard.
Lee Beck, of Tan y Bryn, Valley, was jailed for 21 months and a restraining order made, banning him from the Anglesey village, to last indefinitely.
He admitted assault causing actual bodily harm and criminal damage.
Judge Timothy Petts at Caernarfon crown court said he’d behaved in an aggressive and frightening way.
Prosecutor Sion ap Mihangel said the woman suffered reddening and bruising. Beck had been extremely aggressive towards police and threatened to harm himself with a knife.
Dafydd Roberts, defending, said: "Mr Beck accepts the relationship is over. He recognises he has a problem with anger and alcohol is a significant trigger.”
