SURE Hope Church, Old Colwyn is organising a team to support self isolating people, and is making an appeal for volunteers to step forward.

The team will go shopping for any food or anything else that is needed and will drop them off free of delivery charge.

David Hatch, the Pastor, said: "As a church we care about the community around us, and are concerned for those who have no family nearby to help.

“Therefore, the church is organising a team of volunteers to help anyone who is having to self isolate and are worried about how they are going to manage. They are willing to go shopping for any food or provisions that are needed, and will drop them off free of delivery charge.

“While all the details are being worked out, we are asking for anyone who may be willing to help, and for anyone that thinks they might need some help, to get in touch.”

He added: “Volunteers will follow clear guidelines, both to protect themselves and the vulnerable people they will be delivering to.”

Sure Hope Church already runs a successful FoodShare Club, helping more than 50 families on average every week, with up to £15-worth of food for members who pay a membership of £3.50, and a free lunch for anyone who turns up on a Monday lunchtime.
