RSPCA Cymru is looking for the owner of a tri-coloured lurcher dog, reportedly found on Pen y Fan mountain in the Brecon Beacons.

A member of the public reported finding the female dog some two weeks ago, but earlier enquiries to trace an owner have proven unsuccessful.

RSPCA Cymru initially had concerns about the dog’s welfare – but she has been found to be in good health.

County Times:

The lurcher is not microchipped – a legal requirement and, as highlighted by the RSPCA, something that is critical in reuniting lost dogs with their owners.

Simon Evans, RSPCA inspector, said: “We received reports from a member of the public about a lurcher dog found by them some two weeks ago on Pen y Fan mountain.

“Despite initial concerns about the dog’s welfare, she is in good health and very friendly. Somebody must know something about where this poor dog has come from.

“Unfortunately, the dog is not microchipped – something which is not only the law, but absolutely key in returning missing dogs such as this to their owners. This incident is a timely reminder about why it is so important to positively identify dogs with a chip.

Anyone with information about who may own this dog is urged to contact the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
