Former Montgomeryshire MP Glyn Davies is planning a political comeback.
Mr Davies has announced his intention to succeed Lord Byron Davies as the next chairman of the Welsh Conservative Party.
The newly-elected president of the Montgomeryshire Conservative Association made the announcement on Facebook after Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s visit to the Welsh Conservative Party conference in Llangollen on Friday, March 6.
Mr Davies said: “After a lot of thought I’ve decide to put myself forward. Big commitment, but I enjoy my politics and especially enjoy being challenged by the media on difficult issues.”
“You may think that’s a bit crazy, but some people enjoy running marathons and climbing mountains. Whatever turns you on. So [I] may not be retired from politics after all!”
Lord Davies will step down as chairman this year.
