One of the world’s most famous football managers paid Machynlleth youngsters a surprise visit to their football training session.
Wales manager and former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs popped down unexpectedly to the town’s leisure centre to have a kickabout with the Machynlleth Hurricanes Under 8s team on Thursday, February 27.
“A night they will never forget,” said team manager Sion Jones.
“It was a great experience for the squad to have the Welsh team manager attend training.”
He added: “Ryan was amazing with the boys and he even joined in with the training.”

Chairman William Lloyd Williams described it as a “tremendous” experience for the team to play with the national team manager.
Ryan Giggs also took the time to answer pupils’ questions at Ysgol Bro Hyddgen and made a trip to the local history museum Owain Glyndwr Centre in Machynlleth town centre.
Machynlleth Hurricanes are hosting the annual Machynlleth Football Festival on Saturday, May 16.
