THREE Golf Academy members at a Colwyn Bay school have been rewarded for their exceptional recent form with high places in a national ranking leader board.

Rydal Penrhos trio Adrian Lewis, Charley Simpson and Reuben Bather are ranked in the top 25 in the latest Independent Schools’ Golf Association’s table following a standout campaign to date.

Welsh U14 champion and Golf Wales Aspire squad member Charley has enjoyed a rich run of form that sees him ranked 13th, with Adrian also seeing his outstanding recent development attain 19th position in the rankings.

Rounding off the success from a Rydal Penrhos perspective is Wales U18 international Reuben, who is tied 24th on the ISGA list to further enhance his reputation as one of the brightest young prospects anywhere in the country.

All three pupils have played a leading role in the outstanding recent achievements from the school’s Golf Academy since its inception, with Rydal Penrhos forming close links with North Wales Golf Club in Llandudno.

It also boasts its own short game area to further aid with player development.

Sally Ann Harding, senior school head at Rydal Penrhos, said: “This fantastic news for Adrian, Charley and Reuben, who have all performed incredibly well at various high-profile competitions throughout the academic year with plenty of success along the way.

“Our Golf Academy has been a significant addition to our sporting provision under Ian Richardson, and hopefully this is a trend that can continue long into the future.”
