A MAN who died following a crash in Holyhead has been named by Police.

Dean Short died during a collision involving a black Ford Fiesta which took place on the A5 London Road shortly after 7pm on February 25.

Emergency services attended, but despite their best efforts Mr Short, 54 and from Rhiwlas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female driver of the car was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor with what is believed to be minor injuries.

On behalf of Dean’s family, his sister Kerys said: “It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I am writing this message. My wonderful brother, Dean Short, has tragically had his life cut short on 25th February 2020. He was 54-years-old. A piece of my heart has been lost forever.

"He leaves behind his two beautiful daughters Meleri and Beca who he adored and spoke of so often. He was the best brother anyone could have wished for. He touched so many people's hearts and was always kind and considerate to others. His legacy was 'be kind to others'. Rest in peace my beautiful brother xx”

Sergeant Trystan Bevan of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Short’s family and friends at this difficult time. We are appealing for anybody who witnessed the incident, or who saw the man walking between Tesco and the scene of the collision between 6:30pm and shortly after 7pm, to contact us a soon as possible.”
