A LLANGRISTIOLUS youngster is purring with delight after the return of her beloved cat Blodwen who had been missing for TWO years.
Sara Mair Coyne, who is a Year 6 pupil at Ysgol Henblas, was eight when she last saw her favourite feline friend.
Now, after after Blodwen’s unexpected return, the delighted 10-year-old contacted Chronicle to ask readers if anyone knows ‘where has Blodwen been all this time?’
Sara wrote to ask:“I am writing to you today about my cat that has turned up safe and well after two years away from home.
“I have had Blodwen since she was a kitten, but one day while I was in school, she disappeared!
“I looked everywhere for her day after day hoping she would come back. We put an advert on Facebook and lots of people were looking for her, unfortunately there was no sign.
“I kept her toys under my bed because I was hoping that she would come home.
“Yesterday out of the blue mum had a phone call from the vet saying that a kind women had brought a cat, that had been hanging around her house for about three weeks.
“She went to Bodrwnsiwn Veterinary Surgery to scan her to check if she had been chipped. Luckily, she was chipped, and the vet had all the contact details for her.
“When mum told me they had f ound Blodwen I was so shocked! I ran up the stairs like Usain Bolt and changed as quick as I could to go to the vet.
“I eventually arrived at the vet nervously but very very excited to see Blodwen I am so grateful to have her back but I would love to know her adventure in the last two years, she is very happy now playing with her toys under my bed!”
Sara’s mum Ann Coyne said: “Blodwen has returned looking very well, so she must have been looked after by someone.
“The lady that took her to the vet had been feeding her over the previous three weeks, after she appeared one day at her kitchen window.
“She lives in Bethel, which is only six miles away, so the cat could have wondered off or possibly jumped into a delivery van or the postman’s van!
She added: “Blodwen is being very spoilt now by Sara, and her twin sister Gwen and brother Ioan.
“She is very excited that the story is going to be in the paper and really hopes that Chronicle readers will be able to help her find out more about Blodwen’s adventures!”
Anyone who knows anything about Blodwen’s mysterious disappearance is asked to contact the Chronicle newsdesk.
