A PAIR of Wrexham friends are undertaking an 'Italian Job' to raise funds for Blood Bikes Wales.

Chris Jones, from Johnstown, and John Peers, from Bwlchgwyn, are driving a Mini Cooper from Wrexham to Turin, Italy - inspired by the cult film.

On March 12, the pair will set off from Maesgwyn Hall at 9am on the five-day trip to raise funds and awareness of their charity Blood Bikes Wales.

Chris is Wrexham area representative for Blood Bikes Wales, while John is an active rider for the charity - made of volunteers who deliver a completely free motorcycle courier service to the NHS, delivering blood samples, plasma, human breast milk, documents and other items all over Wales.

Chris said: "We have many local sponsors and supporters who have their names or logos on the car.

"And we'd be delighted if people come could down to Maesgwyn Hall to see us off."

The pair will make their way to Luxembourg, then on to Austria before travelling through the Swiss Alps, down to Milan and then west to Turin.

So far the pair have raised over £600 for the charity, and hope to raise £1,500 in total.
