AN appeal has been made for ex comrades to attend the funeral of a former British Army Engineer on Monday, February 10.

John Thomas Robinson (also known as Jack) has no family to attend the service - which has resulted in his close neighbour being left to organise.

Mr Robinson was living in Rhosrobin, Wrexham, when he passed away on January 18, aged 85.

He was born in 1939 - and grew up in Staffordshire before joining the Royal Engineers - and served time on the Suez Canal and other places overseas within the Reme Regiment.

After leaving the Forces, Mr Robinson moved to Llandudno where he set up a building and maintenance company called JTR Maintenance.

North Wales Chronicle:

He was also a bus driver for Crossville and Arriva at Llandudno Junction for many years until he retired.

In his later years, Mr Robinson enjoyed spending time at his caravan in Anglesey where he would indulge in his many hobbies - which included sea fishing.

His funeral will be held at the Pentrebychan Crematorium in Wrexham at 10am.

Representatives from The Royal British Legion will be attending the service - and will be providing a flag for the coffin and hopefully a flag bearer.

Anyone who knew Mr Robertson are warmly welcomed to attend.
