FIVE schools in the Caernarfon area have been closed following water issues.
Gwynedd council confirmed Ysgol Maesincla, Ysgol Santes Helen, Ysgol Y Gelli, Ysgol Pendalar, Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen, all reported the schools were without water, and have been closed for the day.
Burst and leaking pipes have been reported in the area.
A Welsh Water spokesperson said: “Following an issue on our water network in Caernarfon overnight, although most properties were unaffected, some properties in the area including schools may have experienced low pressure or intermittent water supply for a short period of time this morning.
"We have used tankers and moved water around the network and supplies were restored by mid-morning.
“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank customers for bearing with us.”
