Mobile Post Office

A VILLAGE in Gwynedd is set to be provided with a Mobile Post Office service.

The new travelling Post Office, aboard a specifically designed vehicle, will be available in Bethel from Wednesday, February 5.

It will be operated by the Postmaster for Maesgeirchen, Bangor, who already provide a service to 15 rural communities.

Bethel Post Office is due to close on February 1 following the postmaster's retirement and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use.

The new mobile service will operate from the car park at Memorial Hall, Bethel, LL55 1YE twice a week. The opening hours are Wednesday: 3.15pm to 4.15pm, Friday 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

To accommodate the mobile service, the Post Office will make changes to the current opening hours of services at Upper Bangor from the week commencing February 3.

Carol Williams, Post Office Area Network Change Manager, said: “We are pleased to add Bethel to the existing Mobile Post Office offered by the Postmaster for Maesgeirchen to maintain service in Bethel. As we are keen to restore services to this community as soon as possible, we have decided to go ahead withplans."
