CANCER specialists and researchers will be on hand to answer questions about their work during a special event at Bangor University.

The organisation is marking World Cancer Day, now in its 20th year, at Pontio on Tuesday, February 4.

The evening is aimed at the public and will highlight the cancer research being carried out by the university.

There will be a number of short talks from oncologists and university researchers followed by a question and answer session.

PhD researcher Angharad Wilkie, from the University’s School of Medical Sciences, has organised the session to demonstrate the collaboration which exists between the University, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, North West Cancer Research, Tenovus Cancer Care and Cancer Research Wales.

The free event is being held in the Pontio Lecture Room 2, between 6pm and 8.15pm. Booking is not required.

There will also be a raffle with the first prize being RibRide ride tickets (Menai Bridge), the second prize horse riding vouchers for the Anglesey Riding Centre and third prize is Pontio vouchers.
