A FOUR-LEGGED crimefighter who starred on television is putting his paws up for a well-earned retirement.
Gunner the sniffer dog has worked at Cleveland Police alongside handler PC Jimmy Grieves for the last seven years.
During his time at the force, Gunner recovered thousands of pounds worth of drugs and cash and recently recovered a large haul of drugs hidden in a false floor in a vehicle.
He also showed off his skills in dozens of episodes of Channel 5’s Police Interceptors, working alongside PC Grieves.
A police spokesperson said: "Gunner has now joined a new family, where he will get plenty of time to put his paws up and rest."
