"SENSELESS" vandals smashed the windscreen of a police patrol car outside a station on Anglesey.

Police say the vehicle, parked outside the Amlwch station, was damaged at some point overnight between December 19 and 20.

The car's windscreen was cracked in several places and the vehicle has had to be taken off the road.

A spokesperson NWP Anglesey said: "At some point overnight between 19/12/19 - 20/12/19 a general patrol vehicle has been damaged outside Amlwch Police station, resulting in the vehicle being taken off the road.

"Such senseless acts of vandalism causes further strain on our already stretched frontline service, and puts the public at unnecessary risk. Something we could do without ahead of one of our busiest weekends of the year."
