Llandrindod Wells and District Motor Club has donated £2,000 to local cancer care charity the Bracken Trust; raised from multiple events held throughout the year.

The Club was formed at the beginning of 2019 with the vision being to organise trials events for not only adult riders throughout Mid Wales and the surrounding counties, but to develop and entice more youth riders into the sport.

The club runs four youth events throughout the season and is a host club to the Welsh Motorcycle Federation’s Welsh Youth Championship rounds.

The club also organise four adult rounds in which the youths can also ride with its finale at the Fforest Fields Long Lap Charity Trial held in September, with over 160 riders participating. This included a 25 mile lap, all off road, together with 40 marked out sections trial. This event saw entrants coming from all over the country to ride and the feedback received looks as though they are all planning a return journey in 2020.

The success of this event, and all of the events this year, has meant that the club has been able to donate a significant £2,000 to its chosen charity, The Bracken Trust the Cancer Support Centre in Llandrindod Wells. This is a charity which supports those that are living with cancer locally.

This fantastic donation would not have been possible without the riders’ entry. They also dug deep into their pockets for cake and coffees which bumped up the amount the club was able to donate.

The club wish to extend a special thanks to all for supporting its events in its first year.

Club chairman Gary King presented the cheque for £2,000 to Barry Hicks MBE, a trustee of the Bracken Trust, at the weekend. Also present were Sian King, club secretary, and other club members.
