AN ITALIAN restaurant will be closing its doors after 22 years in business in Bangor.

Ristorante Pulcinella, beside Bangor Pier, has announced on Facebook that it will close down on December 31.

In a statement owners Mario de Rosa, and his wife Yasmin, thanked family, friends and customers for their support over the years.

It read: "We would like to thank all of our staff who have passed through and have now become part of our family, we can't get rid of some of you but we wouldn't have it any other way.

"To all our friends and family who have helped us along the way, supported us, had to put up with our unsociable hours and especially our three beautiful children for putting up with our hectic family life (you'll be seeing more of us now we promise) we thank you with all our hearts.

"Last but not least a big thank you to every single customer who has graced us with their presence since 1998.

"We have thoroughly enjoyed serving you and making friends for life with many of you.

"Grazie mille, Diolch, Thank You.

"Many thanks to you all and we hope to see you before the end of the year

Love from Yasmin and Mario."

The restaurant will still be open for the time being, and with the usual Christmas hours.
