A MAN died at Caernarfon Castle during Remembrance Sunday.

Police, paramedics and the Wales Air Ambulance were at the scene just before noon and visitors were evacuated from the area.

The man is said to have fallen ill in one of the castle towers and all entrances were blocked off.

A Welsh Ambulance Service (WAS) spokesperson confirmed they were called to a medical emergency at Caernarfon Castle.

They said: "We were called on Sunday November 10 at approximately 11:40am to reports of a person needed urgent medical attention near Caernarfon Castle.

"We responded with a volunteer Community First Responder, two emergency ambulances and we were supported by the Wales Air Ambulance."

Caernarfon Castle and North Wales Police have provided no further details and site owner Cadw have been approached for comment.
