A ROAD on Anglesey has been closed this morning after a lorry carrying gas overturned.

North Wales Police and the Fire Service were both in attendance at the scene between Four Mile Bridge and Rhoscolyn.

A spokesperson for the Fire Service said: "We are responding to an incident between Four Mile Bridge and #Rhoscolyn #Anglesey where a gas tanker has overturned.

"People living and working nearby are advised to close windows and doors. Please avoid the area whilst the emergency services are dealing with the incident."

Welsh Ambulance Service were also at the scene and confirmed that a person was assessed. A spokesperson said: "We were called today at approximately 11am to reports of an overturned lorry near Rhoscolyn, Holyhead.

"We responded with a rapid response vehicle, where one person was assessed at the scene.”

The route is currently blocked and will be closed for 'some time'. Motorists are being urged to avoid the area.
