AN ANGLESEY man has raised £360 as he prepares to 'Brave The Shave' in honour of his grandfather who has been battling cancer.

On Saturday, 24-year-old Alex Clarke from Menai Bridge will be shaving all his hair off to raise awareness of the 'Brave The Shave' movement and donating the money raised to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Since 2015, brave shavers have raised over £22.7 million by taking part in the nationwide event.

Julie's Barbers in Llangefni will be the venue for Alex when he braves the shave on Saturday.

Commenting on why he decided to take part in the fundraiser, he said: "I'm doing this in honour of my grandad, who is currently battling cancer.

"He means the world to me and seeing how brave he has been throughout his battle has inspired me to brave the shave and raise money for the Macmillan charity."

Proud girlfriend Jess, who will be accompanying Alex on Saturday, said: "I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated to Alex's cause so far.

"I would also ask anyone who has a few spare pennies to please donate to this fantastic charity and help double his target - We may even convince him to take the beard off too!"
