GWYNEDD Council Residential Home Games teamed up with DementiaGo to organise a sports week recently.
Teams including staff and residents from Arfon, Dwyfor and Meirionnydd participated in a number of events such as Boccia, skittles and walking.
The highlight of the week was the ‘mabolgampau’ event where the homes met in various leisure centres in order to compete against each other.
Five challenges were set including Boccia, kicking at goal, Triathlon – going from sitting to standing, lifting their heel, bicep curls, a parachute game and a cheerleading competition.
Emma Quaeck, Manager of the DementiaGo programme said: “Once again, we’ve had a very successful week with the ‘mabolgampau’ being the highlight.
“Congratulations to all the teams that took part, and thanks to all the staff for their hard work, in order to provide a great week of competing and having fun. We’re looking forward to the next one already!” Here are the full results from the mabolgampau competition:

Byw’n Iach Arfon, Caernarfon. Teams – Plas Hedd, Plas Pengwaith, Plas Maesincla. Winners – Plas Pengwaith
Byw’n Iach Dolgellau. Teams – Llys Cadfan, Cefn Rhodyn, Hafod Mawddach and Bryn Blodau Winners – Llys Cadfan
