It may have been a pouring wet Friday morning - but it failed to deter shoppers streaming to Wrexham for the grand opening of the biggest pound store in Wales.
One Below opened its 14,000 square foot super-store on Regent Street at 10am, with confectionary giveaways for its first customers.

There was a large queue of wrapped-up shoppers with umbrellas waiting for the ribbon to be cut by store staff - with hundreds of people entering One Below in the first hour of trading.
The One Below store - which has created 20 new jobs - will have a huge range of items across 10 departments including Halloween and party ware, as well as a range of groceries, home, health and beauty, baby care, toy, DIY, craft and gardening.
The independent retailer has recently opened in towns and cities, including Cardiff’s St David’s Centre.
The new brand is being independently financed and launched by father and son retail entrepreneurs, Christopher Edwards and Christopher Edwards Sr, who were the original founders of former high street retailer, Poundworld Retail Limited before it was sold to American private equity conglomerate, TPG Capital in 2014.

Many of the former Poundworld staff who lost their jobs when the old Poundworld shop went into administration in 2018 have been given new employment at the new One Below store.
