GWYNEDD businesses urged to prepare in case of No-Deal Brexit.

Business are asked to take "reasonable steps" in advance of Thursday, October 31.

Companies who trade with the European Union (EU) should ensure they have paperwork sorted before the end of October.

In the event of a No-Deal, companies who import or export goods will need to have an Economic Operator Registration and Identification (EORI) number to continue trading with the EU.

Gwynedd Council Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Councillor Gareth Thomas said: “As a Council, we have been very clear that we believe that Brexit will have a major impact on our communities. However, with time moving on and the UK due to leave the European Union on 31 October as things stand, it is sensible for businesses to be as prepared as possible.

“That is why we are urging Gwynedd firms who import and export goods to the European Union to apply for EORI numbers. It is a simple process which takes between five and ten minutes and will mean that businesses are as ready as possible in the event of an unwanted No-Deal.

“By having the EORI numbers in place, companies will limit the risks they and their suppliers may face in the event of a No Deal Brexit.”
