PRESTATYN Town received a long away journey to Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant in the JD Welsh Cup first round.

The runaway JD Cymru North leaders will be tested severely during their trip to mid Wales, with Llan sitting second in the standings after a fine start to the campaign.

Neil Gibson will be hoping his side can replicate the sort of form that has seen them win all but one of their league games, and they are also still involved in the Nathaniel MG Cup after thrashing Caernarfon Town at The Oval.

Rhyl have enjoyed a rich history of success in the competition and they will be aiming for further glory this time around, with their quest beginning at home to fellow second tier side Llangefni Town.

The Lilywhites hosted Chris Roberts’ side earlier on in the season, securing a narrow victory despite a spirited effort from the newly promoted club.

Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One side Prestatyn Sports will be aiming to use home field to their advantage to reach the second round, with Sion Williams and John Hargreaves’ side set to take on either Cefn Mawr Rangers or FC Queen’s Park.
