A “FLASHER” who admitted exposing his backside in a park had problems which stemmed from being aboard the Sir Galahad landing ship - set ablaze during an air attack in the Falklands War, a court heard.

Paul Stanton, 56, who was of Llys Buddug, Caernarfon, admitted outraging public decency at the town on July 31.

He denied engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and the prosecution dropped the charge.

Stanton was remanded in custody until November 14 for pre-sentence and medical reports.

Judge Timothy Petts told him at Caernarfon crown court: "The fact you have pleaded guilty will make a difference to your sentence. But this is clearly a serious matter.”

Defence barrister Simon Killeen said Stanton had been medically discharged from the armed forces following the ship horror.
