A MAN has died after a rescue attempt on the summit of Snowdon.
The incident happened on September 20. Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team revealed today (Wednesday, September 25) that the man had died after not responding to treatment.
A spokesperson for the team said: "We received reports of a male having medical issues at the summit of Snowdon.
"An immediate request was made to our colleagues in the Maritime and Coastguard Agency to provide helicopter support and the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust also scrambled their helicopter and were able to drop two medical professionals on the summit to provide CPR.
"Unfortunately, the gentleman did not respond to treatment and passed away."
The team transported the man down to their base in Nant Peris and gathered up his friends from the hill, where they were informed by officers from North Wales Police of the sad news.
Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team added: "Everyone in the team wishes to pass on our sympathies to his friends and family at this difficult time."
