LLANDUDNO eased into the WRU National Plate second round thanks to a thumping 85-0 home rout over Caernarfon.
The Specsavers One North title holders have begun the season in devastating form and showed no mercy to the Cofis’ during what proved to be a one-sided affair throughout.
The Goats made light work of the tie with some scintillating attacking rugby that resulted in multiple scores, and no team will relish the prospect of coming up against them in the next round if this form is any indication.
Also through to the next stage are Nant Conwy, who bounced back from last weekend’s defeat to Llandudno with a hard-fought 28-17 home triumph over Ruthin.
Another typically physical encounter between the two sides went the way of the hosts thanks to their persistence in the final quarter of the contest, and there was further cause for celebration in the WRU Bowl as Colwyn Bay progressed to the second round.
The Specsavers Two North side faced a stern test of their credentials at home to a powerful Nant Conwy 2nds outfit, but they displayed tremendous grit and determination to come away with a deserved 18-13 triumph in sweltering conditions.
