FIREIGHTERS were called to an open fire near Llanbedr, believed to have been started deliberately on Tuesday night.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said it sent one crew to the incident in the village of Dyffryn Ardudwy just before 9pm.
The fire had burnt out when officers arrived and they inspected the scene where they found used wood pellets.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “We were called to report an open fire in Dyffryn Ardudwy at 8.55pm on Tuesday, September 17. We sent one appliance but the fire was out upon arrival.
“Officers found burned wood pellets at the scene so it is believed to have been deliberate.”
The spokesperson added the fire service’s arson reduction team was informed of the incident.
